“The first grand high mass sung at St. Teresa’s (Henry and Rutger-street) Church. at [sic] 5 A. M., was Lamballotte’s ‘Pastorla Mass,’ double quartet; [lists performers]. The whole was under the direction of Mr. Gleason, the organist. Haydn’s ‘Imperial, or Third Mass in D’ was sung by the same artists at the last high mass.”
