“The Combination Minstrels at the Waverley are not behind their sable brethren of Bryant’s or the San Francisco in the quantity and quality of their attractions for the current week. In addition to the usual amount of songs and dances they offer a number of sketches, which are said to be very comical.”

“A feature with the Allen, Pettengill, Delehanty and Hengler Minstrels this week is the song and dance of ‘Nicodemus Johnson,’ done as a double act by Charley Pettengill and Johnny Allen. This is one of Mr. Allen’s best acts, and, assisted by Charley Pettengill, it will, no doubt, prove a great card. This company have reduced their prices of admission to 75 cents, 50 cents and 25 cents.”

“Allen, Pettengill, Delehanty and Hengler’s Minstrels closed at the Waverley Theatre, on Jan. 1st. They attracted fair houses to that establishment, but, having received a good offer from the management of the Tammany, have accepted an engagement of four weeks, and open there this evening in the burlesque of ‘Bad Dickey.’”
