“…A large number of tickets were disposed of, but the attendance was moderate, rendering dancing an agreeable and pleasant exercise… Willner’s full band furnished the music and played several choice selections during the evening. The society is established for the medical treatment of the poor sick and also to aid in the completion of the German Hospital, and we understand that a handsome balance will be devoted to this object from the proceeds of the reunion.”

“The grand charity ball of the German Ladies’ Aid Society came off last evening at Germania Hall, and was well attended by the friends of the Society. The Society provides medical attendance for the indigent, and is raising a fund to complete the German Hospital.”
