“The Ariel of Miss Lisa Weber was a fine effort—graceful, sprightly and winning in her acting. She entered fully into the spirit of the part, and her playing was a grateful surprise to the many who have only seen her in burlesque. Her singing through the piece was excellent, and in the duet with Miss Clara Fisher, of “I know a bank,’ both ladies received a hearty encore.”

“A delightful disappointment was afforded yesterday by the discovery that Miss Lisa Weber, previously known as a burlesque artiste, could embody Ariel gracefully, though with a slight proneness to introduce more pantomime ‘business’ than was actually needed, and that she could sing the charming music of the part in a manner denoting taste and culture.” “The music then listened to [under Tayleure’s management] was also retained, Mr. Tissington conducting an orchestra of unusual proficiency.”

“Clara Fisher was a pleasing Little Juno and sang charmingly.”
