“This is the night that happens in the beautiful room of M. Garmo, at the corner of 5th avenue and 14th street, the concert of the great violoncellist César Alard, assisted by Mme Gueretti, one of the most eminent singers of the French theater, and of M. M. P. Vilanova, a famous pianist. One will hear there the Grand Fantasie sur Faust, composed by the beneficiary, and performed for the first time in public; and also a Grand Air of Dragons de Villars, sung by Mme Gueretti.
