“On Wednesday afternoon Mr. S. P. Warren, assisted by Mr. W. H. Beckett, gave the fifth of his organ recitals at Association Hall. The programme was an exceedingly good one, embracing selections from such masters as Bach, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Schumann. It is almost unnecessary to say that each morceau received that judicious and conscientious interpretation which Mr. Warren always takes pains to give. The andante from Mozart’s symphony in E flat was the gem of the afternoon, for beauty and simple, yet rich harmony, while a chromatic fantasia in A minor exhibited Mr. Warren’s complete control of the pedals.”
