“Dan Bryant re-appeared with his minstrels the past week, after a brief retirement on account of illness, but Daniel did not show in his proper form; neither did the entertainment go off as smoothly as usual, although certain portions of the programme were cleverly rendered. Mr. Russell sang a song in good style, and the capital chorus connected with it combined to elicit an encore. Unsworth kept his end up fairly, and ‘Shoo Fly’ was greeted with loud applause; in this popular song and dance Dave Reed fairly divides the honor with Dan Bryant.”
