“The San Francisco Minstrels possess all the elements of success, but their business has not been so good of late as if was at the opening of the present season, and this cannot be attributed to the absence of Mr. Wambold, for this decline was apparent before he retired. Messrs. Norman and Lavallee have been added to the troupe since Wambold abdicated. Bobby Newcomb was off several evenings of late on account of illness; his latest song and dance is called ‘The Beautiful Waltzer.’”
