“The usual Saturday afternoon concert occurred at Association Hall yesterday. Mr. F. Eben’s orchestra was heard on the occasion for the first time. It numbers thirty musicians, who [executed?], yesterday, five of the ten numbers constituting the programme. The soloists were Miss Fannie Goodwin, almost a débutante, and the possessor of a very sweet strong and firm soprano voice; Miss Lina Luckhardt, a pianist of ordinary merit, and Mr. F. Eben, whose talent and taste as a flutist are no longer subjects of discussion. Mr. Mora was the accompanist. No organ music—for this relief much thanks!—was given.”
