“A SPECIAL WHITE CAT MATINEE EVERY DAY. In order to accommodate Ladies and Families who cannot cannot [sic] attend in the Evening, this most most [sic] Amusing and successful Burlesque will be presented every day at 2.”
“…The management, in order to give variety to the entertainment, changes the ‘White Cat’ and the American brunettes to the matinees, presenting blondes and brunettes alternately each week at the evening and matinee performances.”
Of White Cat: “…There is little or no symmetry in the form of the work—but these trifles seldom address the sense of art. Rather they are the vehicles for all sorts of absurd business, for songs, dances, capers, contortions, and nonsense in general… The pretty and piquant face of Miss Rosa Rand, and her grateful bearing and neat vocalism, add to the charm of ‘The White Cat,’ such as it is. A Fair scene, in the course of the piece, is enlivened by negro minstrels…” No further mention of music. Includes short description of the current holdings of the museum.
