Bohemian girl is a new burlesque, “introducing an original and novel Fair Scene, with a number of living wild animals…”
“…The management, in order to give variety to the entertainment, changes the ‘White Cat’ and the American brunettes to the matinees, presenting blondes and brunettes alternately each week at the evening and matinee performances.”
No mention of music. “The burlesque was favorably received, and at times warmly applauded.”
“A burlesque on Balfe’s celebrated opera was produced at this house last night for the first time before a crowded audience, which, considering the inclement weather, evinced the popularity of Mr. Wood’s blondes. The burlesque, as may be supposed, does not by any means follow the opera closely, but there are a few scenes from the latter in it. There is plenty of fun, dancing and comic songs in it, however, and what else is needed for a burlesque? The music is in shreds and patches, and bears and monkeys are introduced in the fair scene. Of all the characters in the cast Miss Ada Harland and Miss Emily Pitt bore off the palm by their vivacity and brilliancy. Miss Lizzie Wilmore is a clever little soubrette, but her sister Jennie [sic] has neither voice, comic humor nor the slightest quality to recommend her as a burlesque actress.” No further mention of music.
