Review: New-York Daily Tribune, 18 April 1870, 8.

“…In the evening a vocal and instrumental concert was given in aid of the church. A large number of tickets had been sold, and the building was packed to its utmost capacity, and the rush for seats or standing room caused the entrances to be blocked up for some time. The 7th Regiment band [sic] performed the instrumental music of the programme, consisting of the overture to William Tell, a march from Mendelssohn’s Athalia, and an overture by Suppé. Mesdames Salvotti and Colletti, and Messrs. Colgan and Werneke, assisted by a chorus of 40 voices, sang Lambillotte’s Pascal Mass and several operatic selections.”
