Article on the bazaar, but little mention of music.
“A fine gold watch and chain, presented by Tiffany & Co., will go at the close of the Bazaar to the most popular clergyman in New-York, as shown by the votes of the visitors, and the ladies are beginning to ‘repeat’ in behalf of their favorite pastors in a most reckless and edifying manner. A magnificent Weber piano has been contributed for the wife of the fortunate minister, and, as the Pope and Dr. Potter now lead the list, what lady will get the instrument is becoming an interesting question…
“…The choicest music is provided each evening by Lander’s band, and on alternate afternoons by the 1st Artillery, Governor’s Island, and Navy-Yard bands.”
