Ferranti will shortly board a steamer bound for Rio de Janerio. Ferranti is “a baritone, whose rich voice, faultless method and genuine buffo humor were referred to with admiration a few weeks ago. Signor Ferranti was first heard in concert in this City simultaneously with Mme. Rosa, whom he accompanied to the United States. His earliest triumphs, we believe, were achieved in Brazil, and after years confirmed their genuineness by added London and Paris options. Returned but recently from Italy, whither he had gone to seek repose, his absence from New-York will, we trust, be temporary only, in spite of the high appreciation and warm sentiments of friendship of which he is the object in sunny Rio. Signor Ferranti, we hope, will be listened to in opera in the Fall.”
