Outlines the whole day, which began with a procession from the Germania Assembly Rooms to Jones’s Wood and included thirteen bands. Summarizes some of the addresses given. Concludes: “According to the German principle, ‘Work, pray and enjoy life,’ the rest of the festival consisted in various amusements, chiefly vocal and instrumental music, four bands of music being present on the grounds, and dancing, which was going on on two platforms during the evening and lasting till late in the evening.”
