“The music selected for the occasion was very choice. Mr. Heyman possess a fine, clear, flexible, powerful tenor voice, which but few in the musical world can equal; such a voice as is seldom heard in this city of mismanaged opera.  After the services were concluded a number of gentlemen, enthusiasts in church music, urged Mr. Heyman to defer his departure for Holland than a longer period he had fixed for it, and to give a few concerts. It is possible that he will consent, and if so, our Jewish citizens especially will be greatly excited.”
