“At the Theatre Comique, Wyndham Clark, a Scottish tenor, appeared during the past week and achieved a success, his voice being pure and sweet in tone, of high cultivation, but lacks a little in strength. His selections were not quite as popular as they might have been to please an American audience. On Saturday evening, in response to a well deserved encore, he led forward a young lady whose name did not appear on the bills, who sang with him a duet, with good effect. The lady will appear during the present week, although not announced upon the bills. Messrs. Pankhurst and Collins have appeared in the ‘Original Statue Clog Dance,’ in which they display great rapidity of execution and admirable time. They also gave a double song and dance called ‘Moonlight at Cape May.’ Among the old favorites at this house, the great ventriloquist, Jester, has appeared nightly. The ballet at this house is deserving of especial commendation.”
