“’The Bohemian Girl’ was sung, last evening, at Niblo’s. Balfe’s opera usually attracts a large audience, and the theatre, yesterday, was filled. There is no occasion to revert to the representation of the work, which was given so recently as last week, and with the best results. But we may note for the behoof of persons who have not until now witnessed this very satisfying rehearsal by the strong company now at Niblo’s, that it will be repeated on Saturday.”

“The present operatic season may not be considered a success. Niblo’s is too far down town for opera. [Comment regarding Oberon]. The ‘Bohemian Girl’ may be chronicled as the success of the week, and it will be sung on Monday and Tuesday evenings. The present week will be the last of the opera season. We could wish for Miss Richings’ sake that the present season throughout the country may prove successful, for she has labored hard and struggled against apparently overwhelming obstacles to establish English opera upon a substantial foundation in this country.”
