“Miss Hughes has an excellent soprano voice, a finely moulded form, an exceedingly pretty face; easy, graceful manners, and an archness of style while singing that is very captivating. She was most enthusiastically received during the week, and had nightly to respond to several encores. Mr. Melville, a pleasing vocalist, of good address, sang a number of songs with rapid changes of costume, which were well received by the audience.”
