“Miss Lotta repeated at Niblo’s last night her skillful performance on the banjo, winning the hearty applause of the audience and the customary double encores.
The banjo solo was in a good setting. Quite subordinate to it, of course, yet by no means without interest of its own, was the play of the evening—the well known drama of ‘The Ticket-of-Leave Man.’” No further mention of music.

The finish of her steps, it may here be remarked, is exceptional, and the admirers of the eccentric pas with which her songs are diversified have a better motive for applauding them than could be assigned to similar encouragement addressed to any performer or attainments of a corresponding order.”
