“Brevoort Hall was well filled last night by the members of the Sons of Temperance Division No. 12, to listen to an entertaining and miscellaneous programme. The music was provided by the Mortimer Piano Society. The playing of some of Thalberg’s music by Master Alberto, a young pianist of rare promise, attracted much attention. Singing by other members of the society and recitations made up the rest of the entertainment. Miss Fanny Williams, Miss Grace Mills, Mr. Mortimer Woodcock and Mr. and Mrs. Shorey all lent the aid of their talents.”
