“Miss Nilsson, accompanied by Professor Doremus and his family, visited Kelly & Leon’s last evening. During Leon’s burlesque imitation, the great songstress, Miss Nilsson, arose to her feet and merrily clapped her hands, laughing so heartily as to attract the attention of the whole house.”

Review: New York Clipper, 05 November 1870, 246.

“‘La Rose de Saint Flour,’ a new comic opera by Offenbach, was produced at Kelly & Leon’s Minstrel Hall on Oct. 24th, and was continued during the week. It met with a success, and will be continued upon the bills for some time to come. The ‘Kneelson Concert’ has become very popular with the patrons of this hall. On Friday evening M’lle. Nilsson was present, and thoroughly enjoyed Leon’s clever burlesque of herself, which she heartily applauded.”
