“The lovers of music al fresco—which is exactly the kind of music suited to the season—can congratulate themselves upon the success of Mr. Thomas and of M. Jullien, both of whose enterprises are flourishing. The musical entertainments supplied by these gentlemen are of the highest order, so that they can be attended—unlike most Midsummer affairs—with benefit as well as with pleasure. It is all the more satisfactory to admit this, inasmuch as the Jullien and the Thomas concerts are to be the only sources of music until the Fall.”
