“One of the most amusing features in minstrelsy that has been presented in this city for a long time was the concluding act of the programme at the San Francisco Minstrels during the past week. It was a short pantomime entitled ‘Fox and Goose’ and, although it was performed within ten minutes, it was most humorous. The action was quiet, the situation comical and it was well performed. Mr. Ernest Linden made his first appearance with this company on Monday evening, Sept. 25th, and performed the Village Belle, in the pantomime. He was richly costumed in excellent taste. The first part was changed, and although it comprised nothing actuallty new it was pleasing. The song and dance ‘Kome and Kiss Me,’ performed by a quartet of performers, has become a prominent feature of the evening. Familiar acts, well performed, constituted the remainder of the programme.”
