“At the San Francisco Minstrels the chief feature on the first part of the programme during the week was the singing of a new ballad by D. S. Wambold entitled ‘God Bless the Little Church around the Corner.’ The melody was pleasing and the singer’s fine tenor voice was heard to great advantage, and at its conclusion there was a burst of applause such as is seldom heard. Every heart seemed touched and the response was heartfelt.” [The funeral of George Holland was held at the Little Church around the Corner, after being denied use by another church.]
