“An elegant little concert took place last night at Union League Hall. It was given in the name of Miss Antonietta Ronconi, and this accomplished young vocalist never sang better than on this occasion. In the duet from ‘Elisir,’ with her distinguished father, both her singing and action were perfect. Mrs. Musgrave also sang well, and Mr. Koppel, the tenor, surprised all present by his excellent rendering of an air from ‘Favorita.’ A duet from Cimarosa’s ‘Matrimonio Segreto,’ sung by Mr. Ronconi and Mr. Bartlett, was interesting as a musical curiosity, and the concert closed pleasantly with the quartet from Rigoletto, admirably rendered by Miss Ronconi, Mme. de Gebel, Mr. Koppel and Mr. Ronconi. We should add that the concert was varied by some chorus singing by a number of Mr. Ronconi’s pupils who took part in a finale from ‘Crispino,’ and in the superb chorus ‘O dio del tetto natio.’”
