“The ‘Kyrie,’ which is well known, is considered Weber’s chef d’oeuvre, was rendered in a style that left nothing to be desired, Miss Howson’s singing being especially excellent. The same lady sang ‘Cum Sancto Spiritu’ in the ‘Gloria’ with an expression and purity of tone that thrilled the audience, and in the Credo, the ‘Et Incarnatus,’ she was equally fine. The offertory piece was Luzzi’s ‘Ave Maria,’ which was sung by Miss Benziger with admirable taste and feeling. In the ‘Benedictus,’ which was sung at the Sanctus, the soprano and contralto acquitted themselves with rare ability.”
