Review: New York Clipper, 13 July 1872, 118.

“In the first act the quartet song and dance, ‘Come and Kiss Me,’ drew forth rapturous applause, and was several times re-demanded and cheerfully accorded. Bobby Newcomb won the favor of the audience in a song and dance called ‘Rosey Posey.’ In the second act a Dutch song and dance and a quartet clog were excellently performed, and in the third act a grotesque quadrille, the ‘Active Boy,’ by Bobby Newcomb, and Irish songs and dances were the salient features. Their performances had nothing to do with the story of the drama, and had a tendency to interfere somewhat therewith.”
