“The concert by Miss Francini and Mr. Hildebrant, which was to have occurred at Steinway Hall on Monday last, was given last evening. The piano performance of the lady was more than mediocre, and the singing of the gentleman, who claims to be a tenor, can only be likened to the attempt of the person who, on being asked whether he ever sang, replied that he never tried, and immediately proceeded to make a most unsuccessful experiment. The concert was really beneath criticism.”
