Review: New York Herald, 21 July 1872, 5.

From an article on the pleasures of a Saturday in Central Park: “Of course the great centre of attraction was Dodworth’s Band, which dispensed sweet music from the pagoda near the Mall. There were  airs, fantasias, symphonies and dance tunes, all of which were admirably executed by the white-hatted members of the band.”
