“We regret to learn that Mr. Max Maretzek is suffering from a severe attack of indisposition. Had he been a singer, instead of an impresario, it is probable that he would have published a doctor’s certificate last season with the rest of them, for he was frequently and seriously under the weather. Repose and a sojourn in the country will, we hope, restore Mr. Maretzek to his usual health, in time for the opening of the season in October next. By that time Mme. Medori will have returned to the country, and rumor already speaks of other important additions to the troupe. We are glad to state that Mr. Maretzek has taken the lease of the Academy of Music.”
