Performed by pupils of the conservatory. “Soirées of this kind are eminently useful in promoting the interests of art, as they encourage the rising generation and educate them in the best principles. Listening to some great prima donna or celebrated instrumental performer is very pleasant and delightful at the time, but not so well calculated to educate and excite an enduring interest in music as concerts in which our children and friends are engaged.”
