Mrs. English had a full house last evening. . . . [W]e saw a rollicking farce . . . then heard a sonorous baritone and powerful soprano (Signor and Signora Montenari) in the great duo from the fourth act of the ‘Trovatore.'  It was given in character and with much dramatic demonstration, and we may say that we have heard much worse Di Lunas and Leonoras in our time.  Mrs. English is giving her patrons nightly [illeg.] the value of their money.”
