“Billy Pastor sang a number of comic songs which deservedly met with favor, as he is an excellent tenor vocalist. Orville Pitcher gave a song and dance, which was encored, and in response to a recall performed a big shoe dance, which was quite comical. Hurley and Marr, double song and dance performers, were much applauded. Fanny and Harry Wood sang musical duets in character with rapid changes of costume…They both have good voices, sang correctly, and were costumed in good taste. Miss Fanny also proved herself a good dancer. Miles Morris sang some Irish songs in character, which were favorably received. Billy Carter’s songs, with banjo accompaniment, possessed novelty, and his witticisms were fresh and enjoyable. He made an immense hit, being recalled some six times, to which he cheerfully responded, and yet the audience clamored, like Oliver Twist, for more.”
