“Bobby Newcomb, who made his first appearance at this theatre, performed a number of original songs and dances, which were most enthusiastically received. He was several times recalled, and wound up his entertainment by giving burlesque imitations of Parepa-Rosa and Wachtel, which created much merriment. Little Lizzie Cloote sang character songs and danced a hornpipe in an excellent manner. Her voice is very clear and powerful for one so young, and its intonations are by no means childish. She exhibited a degree of intelligence far beyond her years, and individualized the various characters assumed in a marked degree. This was her first appearance in this city.”
