The only citation lists a “Mr. Persin” as having sung the Rossini selection; Music in Gotham suspects this is actually a Signor Persini, who previously performed with Bryant’s Minstrels.

Review: New York Herald, 03 November 1873, 5.

“The choral arrangements, under Professor Gustavus Schmitz, were, as usual, excellent. One of his own masses, in D major, was performed; and the offertory, the ‘Cujus Anima,’ from Rossini’s ‘Stabat Mater,’ was sung by Mr. Persin. The chorus was strong and harmonious.”
