“Although the evenings are not so very warm as to render outdoor amusements a necessity, the Central Park Garden concerts are already well attended. There was a very large audience present last night, intent on enjoying a miscellaneous programme of varied interest. The quaint ‘Amaryllis’ air of Louis XIII seemed to give special pleasure, and won the only encore of the evening. A ‘Gavotte’ of Bach’s was also very well received.”
