Announcement: New-York Daily Tribune, 28 November 1873, 9.

“The colored students from the Hampton School, of whose interesting concerts we have frequently spoken, will give a performance at the Union League Theater to-morrow afternoon…They have earned money enough by their singing to make a fair beginning of their school building, but they have suffered a good deal from the panic, as other people have, and their appeal to the benevolent has a great deal of force. Their chief object now is to raise money enough to put a roof on their unfinished building, before the walls are injured by frost.”
