There were no fresh appearances at Tony Pastor’s since our last, yet a pleasing entertainment was given. Jenny Leslie sang serio-comic songs; Manchester and Jennings performed their songs-and-dances…Jennie Engel sang sensational songs…the Weston Sisters appeared to advantage in their character songs-and-dances; Tony Pastor evoked much enthusiasm by his comic singing, and the excellent caricatures introduced in his ‘Character Album’ continued to meet with approbation; Gus Williams, who is a great favorite with the east-siders, received numerous encores for his singing of Dutch character songs; and Fred J. Mackley’s songs, with the sketches… [lists more sketches and those who performed them] made up the bill.”
