“There was a fashionable gathering last evening at No. 537 Fifth avenue, on the occasion of a musical and literary entertainment by an amateur company, under direction of Signor Emilio Agramonte, for the benefit of the New York Society for Improving the Condition of the Poor. The bill was one of rare excellence, the performance satisfactory and the attendance sufficiently large to make a noble addition to the funds of this worthy charity.”
