“THE THIRTY-FOURTH-STREET THEATRE closed after the performances of Saturday evening, Oct. 4, on account of bad business. Various attempts have been made to establish in that locality a variety theatre, but ever without success. Dramatic and minstrel performances have been given with a like result. Judging from past experience, it appears quite evident that the residents in that portion of the city do not care to patronize any amusements given in their midst.”
