Review: New York Clipper, 08 November 1873, 254.

“Mr. and Mrs. George Ware made their metropolitan debut at the Metropolitan Theatre on Oct. 27. They sang duets which met with a fair degree of favor, although their performances need curtailing…Billy Carter sang a new song, written and composed by himself, and entitled ‘India-rubber Sal,’ which elicited much laughter and applause…Miss Gussie Creyton [sic] and James Maas performed quite satisfactorily a musical sketch entitled ‘Hiawatha’s Wooing’…” Lists more sketches.
