Old Folks Concert

“There was a large audience convened last evening at the Church of the Disciples, corner of Forty-fifth street and Madison avenue, to listen to a concert which was supposed to revive the songs of our ancestors. Few of the features of the eighteenth century were observable. The singing would never rival the vocal successes of our operatic triumphs; indeed, having little to say in its favor we will say nothing at all. The feature of the evening was the choir, habited in old costumes.”
