“‘Oh My! Ki Riddle, Ki Roodle Um,’ was the burthen of the chorus of a new song sung by Jennie Engel at Tony Pastor’s. Another new one was given, at which, at appropriate intervals, the musicians in the orchestra sang the words: ‘That’s the Way the Story Goes.’ The song made a hit, and we presume the boys in the gallery will speedily relieve the musicians of their task… The Monzert Sisters, two in number, and aged respectively about 17 and 13 years, are very pretty girls who, clad in rich and tasteful costumes, performed quite satisfactorily a double song-and-dance, after which a rapid change of costume a double jig, which was heartily applauded. Although comparative neophytes in the profession, they promise well for the future… The Reynolds Brothers performed their original specialty of ‘My Gal,’ and other songs-and-dances, which elicited liberal applause. The Freeman Sisters, in their musical specialties, introduced a new sketch called ‘Bread, and Cheese, and Kisses,’ which proved to be pleasing and attractive. Tony Pastor met with his accustomed cordial reception, and in his Musical Album he exhibited fresh pictures of the late General Ryan and Daniel O’Connell. The former elicited loud and long-continued applause. Larry Tooley produced a new sketch called ‘Love and Saeurkraut,’ in which he acted Leopold Meyers in a droll manner. Mrs. George Ware was applauded for her character songs and sailor’s hornpipe.”
