“The well known musical director, Dr. James Pech, has recently leased the Harlem Theater, and installed himself as manager of that establishment. It is a commodious and cheerful theater, and it stands in the center of a numerous population. Dr. Pech designs, we are told, to make it an institution of the first class, and to present such entertainments as should induce the Harlem play-goer to forego his journeyings to play houses of New-York and content himself with home products. Dr. Pech has long been known as a scholar and a man of taste and energy; and it seems certain that the success of his present enterprise will benefit Harlem, and extend the conquest of worthy ideas in dramatic management.”
