“Coecia’s ‘Stabat Mater,’ a rather monotonous work, with but few bright features, was given last evening at St. Ann’s church by M. Louis Dachauer’s excellent choir. Besides Mlle. Corradi, Mlle. Gomien and Messrs. Pflueger and Fritsch, there was a much needed feature in the bass department in the fine voice and good school of Mr. H. Trost. The performance was very creditable, but nothing would be sufficient to relieve the heaviness of the composition.”
