“…The evening’s devotions began at 10 o’clock with vespers…The music of this service, including Perabeau’s ‘Magnificat,’ had been prepared with care and was finely rendered. At 12 o’clock began the solemn celebration…” No further mention of music, other than the participation of a boys’ choir “in blue cassocks and cottas” and a men’s choir “in black cassocks and short surplices.”
