“…Patti Rosa, who has a very childish appearance, atoned for the shortcomings of her vocal efforts in serio-comic songs by a lively clog dance, and Boyd and Scott in their songs-and-dances proved to be the possessors of more than average ability. The Freeman Sisters, who reappeared after a brief absence, performed fresh musical sketches, which afforded much pleasure to their auditors. These young ladies are quite versatile, and seemingly ambitious, and, by the neatness and correctness of their costumes, their evident efforts to please and their modesty of deportment, have become great favorites. Among the freshest of Tony Pastor’s songs was a medley, introducing some half-a-dozen popular airs with imitations of young men who are supposed to have sung them. Tony is a great favorite with his patrons, and ever appears the personification of good humor, which is evinced by his readiness to respond to numerous recalls…”
