“There was music yesterday afternoon at Tompkins square by the Central Park Band, under the direction of H. B. Dodworth. The programme was of the usual length and contained selections from the best music of Strauss, Ambrose Thomas, Kunner, Gungl and others. The occasion attracted a great crowd of the east side population to the square.”
