“…Master Martin, who performed an India-rubber song-and-dance in a skillful and agile manner during the early portion of the evening, achieved considerable success by his impersonation of an ape in the closing sketch of ‘Mungo the Ape,’ in which Frank Donaldson rendered valuable assistance by his performance of Sancho, a slave. Mlle. Zittella continued her serio-comic, and Kate O’Connor her Irish songs. Luke Schoolcraft evoked no little mirth by his eccentricities in Dutch songs-and-dances. Nully Pieris sang a fresh selection of songs, and was frequently recalled. William Carter’s vocal efforts, with his own banjo accompaniment and witty remarks interspersed, were received with their accustomed favor. J. H. Budworth sang a Dutch song and performed upon a Chinese and a Japanese fiddle…The attendance has been moderately good.”
